The Science Roadshow is on tour refreshed with new exhibits, shows and classroom-ready resources – all designed to support and augment the delivery of curricula as well as enthusing and stimulating teachers and students. The Science Roadshow strongly supports the Nature of Science strand and the Five Foundational Science Capabilities.
The programme lasts for 80 minutes and includes:
- On The Move – Principles of Force and Movement
- Elemental Chemistry – Building blocks of reactions
55–60 Interactive Exhibits under the themes of:
Forces – Ngā tōpana
Comparisons – Ngā whakatauritenga
Observations using measurements – Te mātakitaki mā te ine
Patterns, grouping, classification – He tauira, he whakarōpu, he kōmakatanga
Materials – Ngā matū
Models – He tauira
A complimentary resource book may be downloaded. This contains many useful activities, both pre and post visit, as well as a complete unit plan on Useful chemicals – He matū whai. The resource book has been developed to enhance student learning outcomes, allowing teachers to better plan and prepare students for their visit and subsequent follow up tasks.

Admission is $8 per student; supervising teachers/adults free.
