Gathering evidence that shows fulfilment of the teacher standards with Jenny Robertson
This workshop will engage teachers in a range of discussion activities to help identify how aspects of subject-specific practice are related to a selection of the teacher standards, and the type of evidence that could be used to show these standards have been met. What to record and document as evidence of effective practice and methods for this will also be considered. Workshop participants are encouraged to bring their own professional portfolio in order to focus on the standards that are a priority for them. Integral to the activities will be consideration of a wide range of other education policy and strategy-related resources for building professional knowledge about effective practice.
This workshop is recommended for new teachers, mentor teachers or leaders supporting appraisal processes in schools and those providing PLD to develop teachers’ understanding of the teaching standards.
At the completion of the course participants will:
1. Have deeper understanding of each of the teaching standards
2. Have understanding and knowledge of subject-specific examples that demonstrate meeting a standard
3. Identify examples of evidence that support achieving standards in their personal portfolios
