Experiencing the Creative Process through Painting – Foundation Course

Professional development (PD) Auckland

Posted: 26 July 2019
Notice reference #: 1H9wHN

This interactive course for primary and ECE teachers explores ways to teach visual arts learning experiences with an emphasis on the creative process.

Educators will be supported to understand how to plan lessons which provide an opportunity for students to experience developing practical knowledge and ideas as well as communicating and interpreting. The aim of the course is to support participants to set up, manage and teach painting in the classroom through a rich creative process of exploring, experimenting, creating, reflecting and sharing.

You will be guided through a rich Creative Process of Exploring, Experimenting, Creating, Reflecting and Sharing - allowing you to personally experience each part of this process and reflect on how it makes you feel and how it affects your approach, thinking, results and learning, giving you the tools and the motivation to take the ideas back to your classroom and implement them.

This Foundation Course is the first of a series of courses with a focus on painting. The Extension Courses also explore ways to develop and experience the creative process, each with different focus.
