This workshop will aim to answer:
- What is student agency?
- How does this benefit student learning and affect achievement outcomes?
- What are the Big Ideas and how can you practically implement student agency?
This full day workshop will also explore one school, Te Akau’s, journey to develop assessment capable, agentic learners and includes examples from the learners.

This workshop will be presented by Aroha Te Maro Gaylor, Teaching Principal at Te Akau School, and Jill Lunn, Senior Facilitator in Leadership at Te Whai Toi Tangata: Institute of Professional Learning.
