He Pikinga waiora: Contributing to students' well-being through HPE 

This workshop for teachers aims to challenge participants' thinking regarding the opportunities the Health & Physical Education learning area holds to support student needs and increase engagement for all.

Throughout the course participants will engage in thoughtful discussion regarding the Health & Physical Education learning area. Utilising a student-centred approach to planning and integration, participants will take a critically reflective lens to consider how they implement quality learning experiences in Health & Physical Education which support the development of resilience, social skills and well-being.

At the completion of the course participants will:

  • Develop a deeper working understanding of the health and physical education curriculum and the potential
  • Utilise a student-centred planning process for programme design
  • Become critically reflective about quality learning experiences in health and physical education.
