Join Word Mania, a Free Online Spelling Competition for New Zealand Schools
Kiwi students are invited to put their spelling skills to the test in Word Mania, the biggest, most fun online spelling competition in the world.

Created by LiteracyPlanet, an award-winning online English literacy education program, Word Mania challenges students to create as many words as they can in three minutes, from 15 randomly generated letter tiles. Word Mania is free to enter for any students from Y1–9, and with $350,000 in prizes up for grabs there’s plenty to play for.
Word Mania is more than just a fun exercise. It challenges students to think outside the box and develop crucial literacy skills while improving their vocabulary and word knowledge.
Students have until 9 August 2019 to sharpen their skills as part of the Practice Round, before the official Competition Rounds from 12 August to 23 August.
The top-performing schools will qualify for the Final Round from 28 August 2019 to 30 August and have the chance to win up to $350,000 in prizes.

The AgriKidsNZ Regional Finals include competing in teams of three in eight different modules based on all aspects of the Primary industries. It is all about getting your hands dirty and having fun with friends!

Entries are now open for the NZ Children's Map Competition 2021 with a submission deadline of 12 March 2021
“A map of my future world” competition theme
Four age categories: 13–15 years, 9–12 years, 6–8 years, under 6 years.
Winning entries in each category (1st, 2nd, 3rd places) receive sponsor prizes.
The school of the 1st place winners in each age category receives a LINZ laminated topographic wall map centred on the school!
