Notice reference #: 1H9uby

Exciting opportunities for young people who are not reaching their full potential and require an effective intervention to achieve at school.  The SPEC programmes are NZQA approved and lead to two New Zealand Certificate Qualifications.

Day 1 – Explores the programme that leads to the New Zealand Certificate in Foundation Skills at Level 1. The programme and qualification is aimed at young people who need to re-engage with their learning.  They may also require additional help with literacy and numeracy and the programme is a really effective way of providing authentic, naturally occurring evidence.  The qualification has a focus on developing life long competencies and has proved to be a success  across many different sectors.

Day 2 – Explores the programme that leads to the New Zealand Certificate in Skills for Living for supported learners and these will be young people who function at the lowest level of the New Zealand Curriculum and require ongoing support with their learning.

The session will include 'hands on' with the materials, exploring the ethos, principles and delivery sufficient for a school to start to implement the programme.

There are three complementary supplements for each of the days per delegate.

Booking forms can be found on www.spec.org.nz

More detailed information about the qualifications and programmes can also be found on the website.

We will be at the NASDAP conference in Wellington 7–9 August.
