Science and Technology with Micro:bit

Professional development (PD) Bay of Plenty

Posted: 21 May 2019
Notice reference #: 1H9uFM

This is a hands-on workshop where we'll be learning how to code Micro:bit hardware so you can see its potential for use in the classroom. Bring your charged iPad or laptop (or both!) and we'll get you using the free app or browser-based coding software. You'll see how the block-based coding system works, and be able to see your code working in the software simulator before downloading it to a real Micro:bit for testing. We'll see how progress outcomes from the Digital Technologies curriculum apply and explore science and technology applications of the Micro:bit. You'll be able to explore the huge online Micro:bit community and have a go at remixing existing resources for your own learners. Science and Technology with Micro:bit is suitable for teachers of years 3-10, beginner to intermediate experience level.

This workshop is currently available in Taupō on 23 July and Tauranga on 24 July 24.
