The Science Roadshow is on tour refreshed with new exhibits, shows and classroom ready resources – all designed to support and augment the delivery of curricula as well as enthusing and stimulating teachers and students.

The programme lasts for 80 minutes and includes:

Two exciting new shows

  • On The Move – Principles of Force and Movement 
  • Elemental Chemistry – Building blocks of reactions

New exhibit themes

Forces – Ngā tōpana
Comparisons – Ngā whakatauritenga
Observations using measurements – Te mātakitaki mā te ine
Patterns, grouping, classification – He tauira, he whakarōpu, he kōmakatanga
Materials – Ngā matū
Models – He tauira

Resource book: 

A complimentary resource book may be downloaded. This contains many useful activities, both pre and post visit, as well as a complete unit plan on Useful chemicals – He matū whai. The resource book has been developed to enhance student learning outcomes, allowing teachers to better plan and prepare students for their visit and subsequent follow-up tasks.

Term 4:

Blenheim, Cheviot, Pegasus, Papanui, Burwood, Fendalton, Riccarton, Lincoln, Rolleston, Darfield, Ashburton, Fairlie, Oamaru, Dunedin, Balclutha, Gore, Winton, Invercargill, Milton, Palmerston, Waimate.

Admission is $8 per student; supervising teachers/adults free.
