The challenges are designed to enable people from all areas of Aotearoa to participate, even if they are in the middle of the city. One of the challenges is to vote for your favourite hero tree whilst another calls for you to spend time with a species of tree you have never seen before. Share why trees are important to you on leaf outlines from our hero trees or meet a tree of significance. Trees are linked with our identity, hold memories, provide a habitat, are a source of sustenance for humans and other animals as well as helping our climate–there is so much to discover about them.
People can share their completed challenges in a variety of ways including social media #bewithatree
