Central Otago teachers of English are excited to host the NZATE Conference for 2019 at Wakatipu High School in Queenstown.
Inspired by our unique surroundings, and alluding to the ever-shifting nature of education, this year's theme is Landscapes. We have planned a number of opportunities to celebrate the peaks of our professional endeavours as well as step back from the day-to-day and gain perspective.
Keynote speakers include:
Toby Manhire, Editor of The Spinoff
Cathy Wylie, Chief Researcher at NZCER
Dylan Horrocks, Graphic Novelist.
A panel discussion around creativity in the classroom will be led by Laura Borrowdale, featuring screenwriter Albert Belz; novelist Annaleese Jochems; novelist Brannavan Gnanalignam and poet Cilla McQueen.
The conference dinner, a gourmet BBQ, will be held at Walter Peak Station by way of the historic TSS Earnslaw. More information can be found at conference2019.co.nz
We are now accepting proposals for workshops from the talented pool of teachers in Aotearoa. Send us your ideas!
