Going to School
The very idea of beginning school can be very exciting for some children but can be quite daunting for others. A smooth, fluid, successful transition if often sought. However, what does a ‘successful’ transition look like?
- Discuss factors that impact children’s transition to primary school
- Gain confidence speaking with parents as they support children approaching and transitioning to school
- Share different expectations, structures and routines of primary school
- Examine comparative characteristics of Te Whāriki and the New Zealand Curriculum.
Ideal for teachers and leaders working with children aged 3–6 years of age to strengthen the programme and support each child in their journey to primary school.
This course runs from 4–7pm.
