Animal Welfare Obligations – Are Your Students Using Animals in Classroom Projects?
Both teachers and students can meet their obligations under the Animal Welfare Act by submitting all projects that include animals for approval prior to beginning the project.
Applications are assessed by the Schools' Animal Ethics Committee, which has been set up to help students and teachers meet their obligations under the Act.
The Committee meets 6 times a year, and will get assessments back in time for your project to begin. Meetings are focused around Science Fairs dates.
Questions About Animal Ethics Approvals?
Contact the Committee directly. We are here to teach students about animal welfare, and ensure that animal welfare standards are upheld during all school projects. We can offer assistance and advice in improving project design, and help teachers and students meet the best outcomes for the animals involved.
We look forward to hearing from you soon.

While on ‘Famil’ with us you will participate in masses of activities and look at ways of giving back to the local community. This year is a June departure for 4 nights.
