Balanced and Barefoot – exploring how unrestricted outdoor play makes for strong, confident and capable children.
Hear Angela Hanscom, a paediatric occupational therapist and founder of the award winning international TimberNook programme, speak about why unrestricted movement and outdoor play are vital for a child’s cognitive and physical development. Wendy Pirie, Director of TimberNook New Zealand will also share her insights into the hidden 'gems' of outdoor play and why they influence education.
This seminar will be of interest to families, educators, occupational therapists and other health professionals interested in exploring the concept of using the environment as a 'third teacher' to enhance child development.
