Play is critical to the healthy growth and development of children. Play is the best way that children develop working theories, that is learning about and making sense of themselves, other people around them, the different environments they are in and the wider community and world around them.

This course explores the role of play in relation to it’s importance in the learning and development of young children. It describes the skills and knowledge that children are developing through their exploration during play and explains the different play stages that children go through.
