SPEC - South Pacific Educational Courses - New Zealand Qualifications
SPEC programmes are NZQA approved and lead to two new New Zealand Certificate Qualifications.
The Certificate in Foundation Skills Level 1 is complimentary to NCEA and helps struggling students get 'back on track' with their learning by focusing on developing competencies, and on their particular strengths and interests. In addition to the qualification students can also accrue credits towards NCEA Level 1 and NCEA Level 2. The programme has proven success around the country, with students who have re-engaged in learning and are now self -motivated, and leave school with formal qualifications and a base skill-set fully prepared for a smooth transition into the workforce or further learning.
The second qualification is for young people who function at Levels 1–2 of the New Zealand Curriculum, and require additional support and an adapted curriculum. The New Zealand Certificate in Skills for Living for supported learners with an optional Strand for Skills for Work provides a relevant and meaningful credible outcome for this particular client group.
We are entering a period of change, looking to personalised learning as a way forward to equip each young person with the skills they need for their future.
The learning opportunities we provide must be meaningful and relevant to them.
Delegates may choose to attend either or both of the PLD days. The days will provide all the background, detail of the two qualifications and the programme delivery for any school to get started. Complimentary Guidance books will be provided to every delegate attending.
All resources will be displayed.
All refreshments are included 9.30am–2.30pm.
