Problem Based Learning (PBL) in the Secondary School

Professional development (PD) New Zealand (nationwide)

Posted: 13 December 2017
Notice reference #: 1H9gsR

Want to get your students actively exploring real-world problems and challenges to acquire deeper knowledge? In Problem Based Learning students gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to an engaging, "wicked" problem, or challenge. This workshop is for teachers who are wanting to use problem based learning for their Y9–10 students and will include examples from classrooms and schools already successfully using the approach.

Participants will:

  • understand why change is necessary
  • identify a delivery model for problem based learning (PBL) in their secondary school context to engage a diverse range of learners
  • investigate opportunities to develop cross-curricular links
  • develop a better understanding of collaborative teaching models to support PBL.

Join us for a 1.5 hour online workshop from anywhere in Aotearoa.
