Join Murray Gadd for an an interactive and illustrated full-day writing workshop (*Saturday-therefore "no" reliever costs).

Murray Gadd is an independent literacy consultant and expert who recently completed his PhD on ‘what is critical in the effective teaching of writing’.  He works nationally and internationally as an independent literacy consultant on literacy issues, particularly reading and writing.  

For the Ministry of Education, he led the team that developed the national writing exemplars, he wrote Effective Literacy Practice in Y5–8 and he worked closely on the English sections of the NZ Curriculum.

This workshop caters for Y1–8 literacy leaders and teachers. It will draw on the best of professional knowledge available, including Murray’s own research.

GOALS: For participants to: 

  • Explore what Y1–8 students should be achieving as developing writers.
    Undertake an illustrated look at the effective teaching of writing: content, instructional strategies and organisation.
  • Explore ways of working with reluctant or under-achieving writers.

 Saturday event, no reliever cost.
