Waikirikiri School 50 year Golden Jubilee/30 Years Celebration Te Whānau Reo Māori

Jubilees and reunions Gisborne

Posted: 14 November 2017
Notice reference #: 1H9g6j

2017 is an important year for Te Kura Reo Rua o Waikirikiri as we are celebrating our 50 Year Golden Jubilee. We are also celebrating 30 years since the inception of our Whānau Reo Māori - a major accomplishment for us as we were at the forefront in terms of the promotion of Māori medium education and were in fact the first school within the Gisborne City boundaries to offer Māori medium education.

Te Kura Reo Rua o Waikirikiri has seen many changes over its 50 year history. Today we are now teaching the children of past students and so we look forward to celebrating this milestone in our journey as a kura.

We extend a warm welcome to all past students, teachers, BOT members and friends of Te Kura Reo Rua o Waikirikiri.

To mark the occasion we will be having an open day celebration at school on Friday the 8th of December, which will include the official re-opening of A-Block, we will also be holding a Jubilee dinner on Saturday the 9th December 2017.

Registration forms are available either from our school's Facebook page of by emailing

Registrations are limited to 100, avoid disappointment and get your registrations in ASAP.
