Notice of the Proposed Education Council Rules Amendment 2017
The Education Council of Aotearoa New Zealand (the Education Council) is updating its Rules to make sure they’re consistent with some recent changes, including the launch of the Code of Professional Responsibility and changes to the Education Act 1989.
This is important to us and the profession because it supports efficiency and transparency in delivering our functions.
The amendments to the Rules relate to the Competence Authority, the criteria for reporting serious misconduct (Rule 9), establishment of the Registration Panel and some other minor refreshes to the existing Rules, providing more clarity and consistency.
We’re now providing a draft of the proposed amendments to the Rules for the profession and wider public to consider.
For more information and to make a submission on the proposed amendments to the Rules, visit our website https://educationcouncil.org.nz/content/draft-amendments-education-council-rules-2017.
Submissions close on 1 December 2017.
