Professional development (PD) Canterbury, Otago, Wellington

Notice reference #: 1H9fPM

How many children with ADHD do you teach? Join us to help build the ADHDvantage for your students. We'll support you with:

  • providing an understanding of emotional control in children with ADHD
  • effective behavioural techniques
  • inquiry-based teaching
  • constructive classroom management strategies for managing children with ADHD, and
  • a PLD certificate showing your attendance.

It's estimated Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) affects between 2% - 5% of children today. This may be identified by a range of charateristics such as impulsive, unpredicatable behaviour, hyperactivity or constant interruptions. Managing 30-40 children for 6-8 hours each day is challenging for anyone, let alone trying to manage behaviours like this as well.

As part of Mental Health Awareness Month this October, ADHD NZ Association are holding a Roadshow in the main centres of New Zealand.

Clinical Psychologist and Director, Dr. Sarah Watson will help you understand and identify emotional under-control, including anxiety, anger, excitement, passion, in children living with ADHD and provides behavioural techniques and classroom management strategies for managing children with ADHD.
