Writers in Schools Bookings for Term One Open Now

Projects and programmes New Zealand (nationwide)

Posted: 06 October 2017
Notice reference #: 1H9fLU

Bookings are now open for the New Zealand Book Council Te Kaunihera Pukapuka o Aotearoa  Writers in Schools programme for 2018. Inspire your students to develop their love of reading, writing, illustrating and storytelling by bringing an author into their classroom next year.

This is some of our student feedback from 2017:

“I learnt not only writing techniques but I also gained confidence” (Forest View High)

“The exercise of writing a poem was very inspiring and showed me that poetry can be written by everybody” (Tokoroa Intermediate)

“It was inspirational and we should do more arty things like this at school” (Darfield High)

More than 200 of Aotearoa’s best novelists, journalists, poets, playwrights, non-fiction writers, storytellers and illustrators are registered as part of the Writers in Schools programme. Our authors span the length and breadth of the country and our booking form matches the needs of your school with a suitable guest.

To see which authors are available in your area, have a look at our Writers in Schools booking form: www.bookcouncil.org.nz/programmes/writers-in-school/apply-for-a-visit/
