International Conference on Indigenous Education
Te Akatea Māori Principals Association invite all educators of indigenous tamariki from Aotearoa, Australia and the Pacific to an incredible conference on indigenous educational leadership and learning.
Te Akatea is hosting this conference in conjunction with our National Australian and Torres Strait Island Principal's Association - NATSIPA colleagues in the second ever combined conference and the first to be hosted in Aotearoa.
We invite ALL educators who have a passion for the education of Maori, Pasifika Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island tamariki to register for this conference that will challenge and engage you in the cutting edge of indigenous education.
What is it that you don't know yet about educating indigenous students? Join us and find out. Come and feel the aroha and wairua within our community as we work togther to raise the aspirations and achievement of all our tamariki. Kura Kaupapa Maori, Kura-a-Iwi, Kura Auraki, English Medium and Pasifika. Early Childhood through to Tertiary. All are welcome.
The conference is being held in the beautiful Bay of Islands at the Waitangi Copthorne from the 27 February to 2 March. There is also an additional program for those who need to fly into Tamaki Makaurau from across Aotearoa, Australia and the Pacific. This includes an overnight stay in a Marae with a guest speaker, all meals and a guided bus tour up to Waitangi that includes visits to, and a kai in, selected Whangarei schools.
Places for this spectacular conference are limited to 250 delegates so you will need to get registered fast.
