Entries are now open for the Waitangi Day Speech Competition held by the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. The topic is 'What does Waitangi Day mean to me?' and is open to Y11 students from NZ secondary schools. The winning student will receive a trip to the Bay of Islands with Air New Zealand and a stay at the Kingsgate Hotel Autolodge Paihia courtesy of Westpac NZ to attend official Waitangi Day functions, with the opportunity to deliver their winning speech. Schools can enter their nominated student (one per school) at www.waitangi.org.nz/education/speech-competition-entry-form.
