Exploring Principles of Culturally Responsive to Nurture Māori Student Potential, Whangarei

This half day workshop is an opportunity for teachers and leaders to explore their understandings and knowledge of culturally responsive and relational pedagogy currently exemplified in the classroom and how this might be recognised and strengthened in their own school.

 

Teachers will engage in practical activities that will

  • explore and develop an understanding of culturally responsive and relational pedagogy
  • make connections to current teaching practices and implications for change
  • understand key research,  policy documents and related resources

Learning outcomes:

1. reflect on their current practice in relation to what works for Māori students

2. use the principles of culturally responsive and relational pedagogy to refelct on and guide their practice
