Who Am I Writing For and Why Am I Writing? Charlene Mataio
Teaching to a specific genre each term is the way many teachers have approached their writing programmes. This course challenges this model and instead promotes an integrated teaching approach to literacy which supports children to be engaged and motivated with their writing. The Literacy Learning Progressions state that children 'understand their purpose' for writing, and 'have an awareness of their audience'. Examples of how the specific strategies can be used in the primary classroom will be explained and demonstrated.
