Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) for Educational Leaders, Auckland
In conjunction with the University of Auckland Centre of Educational Leadership (UACEL).
We live in what has been described as a VUCA world; volatile, uncertain, chaotic and ambiguous, which impacts negatively on our stress levels, interpersonal relationships and ability to make decisions. The mental skills training of mindfulness helps us to respond more skilfully to the VUCA world around us and to avoid the ‘fight, flight or freeze’ behaviours so many experience in times of stress.
Mindfulness is used by many leading educational institutions and corporations around the world to impact on effective decision making and creative thought. Research also suggests the value of mindfulness in promotion of healthy and productive workplace relationships.
The MBSR course is regarded as a global standard in mindfulness instruction. Through attendance of seven evening sessions and a one-day retreat, educational leaders will learn skills and attitudes that are critical in the maintenance of a healthy mind.
