Managing Risks and Safety in the Outdoors – A Delicate Balance
Play and Learn are offering two full-day workshops in Auckland at Paerata and Glenfield. These workshops are a must for staff taking groups of children into the outdoors. We will cover legislative requirements, different types of risk analysis, how to identify hazards and risks and how you can create safety systems for your own service. We look at why risk is important for children and how they can develop important life skills to assess risk for themselves.
We have over 20 years' experience of taking groups out into the community and into nature. We have a wealth of knowlege, experience and training to share. In 2015 we began our Professional Development programmes. We believe that it is critical that educators are knowlegeable when taking children into the outdoors and safety must be a priority.
