Navigate Ethics & Research with Doctor Jason Ohler.

A full day workshop on Preparing the Digital Generation for the Challenges of a Living and Learning in a Technological Future

Three minds-on, hands-on presentations that will help you and your students navigate their online futures not only safely and responsibly, but also creatively and productively. You will leave with lots to think about and try with your students and those in your educational communities. For teachers, administrators, policy makers, community members.

Presentation 1: Navigating ethics during times of extreme change, fearlessly and hopefully

Addressing issues like, what is digital citizenship? Where did it come from and where is it going? How do I involve my students? What’s my role in helping students be safe and inspired on the Internet?

Presentation 2: You're in Charge

How do we help students to think critically and creatively about using their technology and online resources? How do we get them to own their learning and their futures, and navigate their digital lifestyles with a sense of insight, responsibility and humanity?

Presentation 3: Trends that Bend - Technology Trajectories That Are Changing Everything Educational.

The future is just getting started and will be here before we know it. Be prepared. This presentation addresses the questions: What are the main technological trends that are cresting and entering into the educational mainstream? How do we prepare for them now so we aren’t blindsided? How can use these new technologies to improve our schools and communities, while understanding and avoiding their limitations?
