The Journey Towards an Innovative, Modern Learning Classroom (IMLE), with Bek Galloway

Professional development (PD) Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty

Posted: 14 July 2017
Notice reference #: 1H9dbT

For all teachers, leaders and principals who want to learn more about the pedagogy and practice that is required to make Innovative, Modern Learning Spaces successful. This workshop is practical and aimed at growing innovative teacher practice. It is suitable for all teachers - whether in a single cell or shared learning space.

We all know that the recent focus on Innovative, Modern Learning Environments (I.M.L.E), isn't just about creating lovely, open spaces with a few beanbags.  We get it!  It is our pedagogy that will make a learning space ‘innovative' and ‘modern' - not the furniture, and this requires a significant shift in mindset, teacher practice and learning approach. So, it's not surprising the journey can be overwhelming and a challenge for already busy, dedicated teachers.

This is a perfect workshop for all teachers, leaders and principals who want to learn more about the pedagogy and practice that is required to make Innovative Modern Learning Spaces.

You will come away with a much clearer understanding of exactly what you can do to create your own journey as well as lots of practical ideas, real classroom examples and strategies to use in your space, covering key questions like:

  • How do I negotiate with colleagues?
  • How do I manage students?
  • What systems work effectively?
  • How do I create collaborative, deep thinking questioners?
  • How do I increase student agency?
