Digital technologies fund opens
22 August 2016
A new $1 million fund has been created with the aim of encouraging collaboration between schools, kura, Communities of Learning, and industry.
There are 12 secondary, area and primary school study and sabbatical awards available each year. These awards were established in negotiation between the Post Primary Teachers’ Association (PPTA), New Zealand Educational Institute (NZEI), and the Ministry of Education.
They are tailored to meet the requirements of teachers and principals intending to study part-time, full-time or undertake a sabbatical.
Some examples of sabbatical study areas for previous recipients have included: digital e-learning and its impact on teaching and learning, learning from top-performing schools, developing e-learning opportunities in rural schools, and investigating strategies to enhance effectiveness of boarding facilities.
The following study awards provide paid study leave to complete part-time or full-time study in an education priority area. The length of study leave awarded is based on your proposed study.
